Boys Soccer and Michael
Poplarville High School BoysТ Soccer team is now 3-0 after their game against Stone County last Saturday. The win didnТt come without a price though. Senior Co-Captain Michael Kammer made the announcement that he would shave his head if the team managed to win its first three games.
а
There is a sign posted in the boysТ locker room that says if you want to win something youТve never won before, you have to give something you never gave before. This was the inspiration for KammerТs act. Everyone who was present was very wound up and couldnТt wait to see what other wins might bring about. This sort of excitement is really good for the team.а

Coach Saucier has been pushing the boys this season, and it has obviously been paying off. The boys credit their recent success to a more mature team, a greater love for the game, a wonderful defense, and their better physical shape due to frequent running. Also, a large number of the team participated in a summer league and this provided a lot of extra and much needed practice.
а
West Harwell, another co-captain, feels confident that the boys will continue to win as long as they play their hardest and remain humble about their achievements. Team work contributes a great deal as well. УWeТre playing like a team instead of a bunch of individuals,Ф Harwell explained.

The PHS GirlsТ Soccer team isnТt doing so badly either. In fact they have done well in the previous three games, giving them a record of 1-1-1. Both Coach Kelly Mitchells and Coach Troy Davis are proud of the girls for all theyТve done this season. Their success goes to the effort put into their game.
а
Team member Jessica Holliday agrees. УThe girls really pushed it. As a senior IТm really proud of them. IТm really looking forward to the next game.Ф
